Who discovered sleep paralysis?
The original meaning or definition of sleep paralysis was defined by Dr. Samuel Johnson in his A Dictionary of the English Language as "nightmare," it is a term that evolved into our modern definition. Sleep paralysis was considered to be the work of demons and to be more specific its called incubi, which were thought to sit on the chests of sleepers. Johnson's A Dictionary of the English Language was published in 1755; Johnson's work had a big effect on Modern English and it has been described as "one of the greatest single achievements of scholarship.
